Biz Buzz: Bakery offers nothing ‘bundt’ cakes

Nothing Bundt Cakes opened on Dec. 1, and offers hand-crafted and creatively-inspired bundt cakes. The new 1,811-square-foot bakery is located at 1112 Galleria Blvd., suite 140 in the Creekside Retail Center.

The Las Vegas-based franchise is offering special grand opening promotions this weekend including a fundraiser for the Keaton Raphael Memorial on Friday, free bundlets (a miniature bundt cake) for a year for the first 50 customers on Saturday and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The Fountains at Roseville will be collecting toys for children of service members from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 10 – 23. Now in its ninth year, Toys For the Troops’ Kids, Inc. has delivered more than 100,000 toys to military families with actively deployed overseas personnel and those families who lost service members during 9/11.

The Sutter Rehabilitation Institute at Sutter Roseville Medical Center completed an $8 million expansion that increased the number of beds by 42 percent and added a full kitchen and second dining room, doubling the rehab center’s space.

The project adds 15 patient rooms on the first floor, expanding capacity from 40 to 55 beds, and includes a full kitchen and a second dining room on the institute’s second floor.

The beds will be available for patients in early December and the kitchen and dining room will be open after the first of the year.

Syngenta is currently processing a new tenant improvement for 3,666 square feet of office at 1075 Creekside Ridge Drive.

Syngenta assists farmers worldwide in their daily needs by developing and offering a broad range of products such as completion of the Rice Genome Map by researchers of the Torrey Mesa Research Institute (TMRI), the genomics research center of Syngenta in January of 2001.

This discovery provided researchers with new knowledge to improve food crops when Syngenta made the Rice Genome Map publicly available in 2002.

Roseville-based Voit Real Estate Services has completed 51 office transactions so far this year, selling and leasing more than 296,000 square feet of commercial office space in the Greater Sacramento area.

Voit’s team has completed 20 office sales, totaling 186,000 square feet, while also completing 31 office lease transactions to date, totaling 110,103 square feet of office space.

According to Senior Vice President Robb Osborne, 2011 has been a year of growth for this sector of the market and the company is seeing positive indicators of future stabilization.

Of the sales Voit completed this year, 19 of the 20 transactions were under 20,000 square feet, while one sale totaled 100,000 square feet.
