Biletnikoff Golf Classic scheduled for June 6 in Lincoln
The seventh annual Fred Biletnikoff Hall of Fame Golf Classic/The Oakland Raiders Tournament will be held Monday, June 6, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.
Proceeds benefit the Biletnikoff Foundation, which was established in memory of Tracey Biletnikoff, the murdered daughter of NFL Hall-of-Famer Fred Biletnikoff.
The tournament will include a continental breakfast, $5,000 putting contest, $25,000 hole-in-one contest, four $100,000 shootouts, course competitions, tee prizes, a 19th-hole reception, dinner, entertainment, silent auction, Biletnikoff Angels, Raiderettes and celebrities from across the nation.
Prize packages include an eight-day trip for two to Scotland, an eight-day trip for two to Hawaii and an eight-day trip for two to Augusta, Ga.
Several former Raiders players are confirmed as guests, including Biletnikoff, Ted Hendricks, Willie Brown, Daryle Lamonica, Ken Stabler, Jim Plunkett and Tim Brown.
Raiders season-ticket holders are offered a discounted price for the tournament.

Other activities related to the tournament include a gridiron greats autograph show from 3-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, at Ruth’s Chris Steak House at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville; and “Take A Stand — Be Forever Inspired” from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at Granite Bay High School. Student-athletes from Placer County high schools have been invited to the event, which includes speeches by NFL legends Biletnikoff and Brown and motivational speaker Adam Ybarra.

Registration for Woodcreek Junior Timberwolves football begins Wednesday, May 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Round Table in the Bel-Air shopping center on Foothills Boulevard. Cheer applications are being accepted now.

Youth Sports Fund offering grants to programs
The Allegiant Youth Sports Fund at the Placer Community Foundation is accepting applications for grants to fund youth sports programs in Granite Bay.
Grants from $500 to $2,500 will fund nonprofit organizations operating football, basketball, soccer, baseball and softball programs for youth ages 5-18. Priority will be given to programs targeting economically disadvantaged youth.

Folsom Century Ride benefits Parkinson Foundation
The third annual Folsom Powerhouse Century Ride, hosted by the U.S. Cycle Tour Club, is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 6 and 7.
The event benefits the National Parkinson Foundation. Registration on May 7 begins at 6 a.m. Rides begin between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. with 32-, 62- or 100-mile routes starting and ending at Bicycles Plus, 705 Gold Lake Dr., No. 320, in Folsom. Cyclists can choose 30-, 62- or 100-mile routes through the Newcastle countryside, Loomis basin, Gold Rush countryside and Sierra mountain range.
Registration is $45 in advance and $55 on the day of the event. Teams of five or more receive $5 off each registration, and teams of 10 or more receive $10 off.

Redding Memorial golf tournament in June
The sixth annual Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Monday, June 20, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.
The cost is $135 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, polo shirt and hat, barbecue lunch and an awards dinner that includes a raffle, silent auction and an auctioneer. Dinner only is available for $35 per person.
A popular Rocklin Police Officer, Matt Redding died while on duty in October 2005 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that was driven by an intoxicated driver.
All proceeds go to the nonprofit Matt Redding Foundation, which helps support education in Protective Services and provides college scholarships each year to three area high school students from Rocklin, Whitney and Del Oro.
