Roseville resident Joseph Sobczak has been a Boy Scout since he was 11, and will soon be receiving the rank of Eagle Scout; the highest rank available. In order to receive this achievement, Joseph, 13, was required to complete and Eagle Scout Project. Joseph decided to do a spring cleanup in May at Home Start in Roseville. He organized 30 volunteers to clean windows, organize books weed the outside areas. “I wanted to do something that would help and benefit the community,” Joseph said. On top of cleaning up the area surrounding Home Start, Joseph and five other Boy Scouts also made three storage units for the facility. On Aug. 8, Joseph will be rewarded his rank at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. When asked what he found to be most rewarding about being a Boy Scout, Joseph said, “I like the fact that you learn things that will help you later in life.”
