Bayside West names new pastor

Fredrickson is former U.S. Air Force chaplain

Longtime pastor, professor and U.S. Air Force chaplain Dave Fredrickson has been named executive pastor at Bayside West Community Church in Roseville.

Fredrickson will oversee staff and drive the overall vision and strategies of the church, according to Senior Pastor Chuck Wysong in a press release.

“Dave is a perfect fit for Bayside West,” Wysong said. “He brings maturity, professionalism and a depth of experience that will help our church continue to grow and reach out to the community.”

Fredrickson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, master of theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary and a doctoral degree in systematic theology from Baptist Bible Seminary in Pennsylvania. In 1985, he was ordained by the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination.

Since 1984, Fredrickson has served in four pastoral roles. Fredrickson previously served as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserves. He has also taught at the Sacramento campus of Western Seminary of Portland, Ore., and served as campus director for 10 years. He continues to teach part-time at Western Seminary.

Bayside West Community Church holds services at 9:15 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sundays at 10020 Foothills Blvd. in Roseville.
