Basketball camps next week at Granite Bay, Woodcreek
Granite Bay High School has scheduled its 15th annual basketball camps for the weeks of June 13-16 and July 5-8. The camps are open to boys and girls in kindergarten through eighth grades. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for grades K-2 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for grades 3-8.
The camp includes instruction, games and contests, guest speakers and daily prizes and awards for attitude and hustle. Members of the Granite Bay boys and girls staffs will run the camp.
Fees are $75 for grades K-2 and $125 for grades 3-8. The cost is $200 for two family members and $280 for three family members.

Woodcreek to hold basketball camp
Woodcreek High School is planning its Lady Timberwolves Fundamental Basketball Camp from June 13-16.
The camp is open to girls who will be in grades 1-10 next fall. The cost for pre-registration is $50 for girls in first through sixth grades and $100 for girls in grades 7-10.
The camp lasts from 8:30-11:30 a.m. each day for grades 1-6 and from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for grades 7-10.

Roseville volleyball camp
Roseville High School will hold a volleyball camp for girls entering grades 7-9 the week of July 11-15 at Moeller Gym on campus. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to noon each day. Boys volleyball camp at Granite Bay
Granite Bay High School will hold a boys volleyball camp from July 11-15 for players in grades 7-12. Run by varsity coach Bruce Honberger with assistance from graduating Grizzlies players, the camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day and includes drills, instruction, daily contests and prizes. The player/coach ratio is 6 to 1.
The $100 fee includes a camp T-shirt, and there is a $10 discount for a second family member. The camp is limited to 36 players.

All-comers track and field series begins
The Revolution Express Track Club and Rocklin High School will hold the second of three all-comers track and field meets Tuesday at Rocklin High School.
Registration begins at 5 p.m. The meet is open to all ages, and the cost is $5 per meet to compete in unlimited events and $2 for spectators. Kids 5 and under are admitted for free.
Running events include sprints, relays, hurdles and distance races. Field events include the long jump, high jump and triple jump, pole vault, turbo javelin and shot put.
The final meet in the series is scheduled for June 21.

Redding Memorial golf tournament in June
The sixth annual Matt Redding Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Monday, June 20, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.
The cost is $135 per person, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, polo shirt and hat, barbecue lunch and an awards dinner that includes a raffle, silent auction and an auctioneer. Dinner only is available for $35 per person.
Registration and lunch is from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The shotgun start is at 1 p.m.
A popular Rocklin Police Officer, Matt Redding tragically died while on duty in October 2005 when he was struck and killed by a vehicle that was driven by an intoxicated driver.
All proceeds go to the nonprofit Matt Redding Foundation, which helps support education in Protective Services and provides college scholarships each year to three area high school students from Rocklin, Whitney and Del Oro.

Open-water swim at Folsom Lake
The fifth annual Folsom Lake Open Water Swim is scheduled for Saturday, June 18, at Beals Point on Folsom Lake, on the corner of Oak Hill Drive and Auburn-Folsom Road in Granite Bay.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and features distances of six-tenths of a mile, 1.2 miles and 2.4 miles. The course is triangular, and the 1.2- and 2.4-mile swims will be run concurrently.
Cost is $35 for early registration and $40 after June 5.
Morgan Creek will hold PGA junior camps
Morgan Creek Golf Club in Roseville will be host to one of several PGA TOUR Academy Junior Golf Camps this summer.
Dates for the camps are June 20-24, July 11-15 and Aug. 1-5. Full-day camps are open to golfers of all skill levels from the ages of 9-16. Half-day camps are open to golfers 7-13. Full-day camps cost $595 and half-day camps $295.
The curriculum includes swing mechanics, short game and strategies pertaining to the mental aspects of the game, according to a news release. A review of golf jargon, etiquette and sportsmanship also will be covered.
