Baseball's Pitch, Hit & Run contest in Roseville on May 6
Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit & Run competition is coming to Roseville.
Woodcreek Little League will be host to the longtime popular event at noon Sunday at Mahany Park.
Age groups are 7-8 years, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.
The competition is free, and players must bring a copy of their birth certificate to registration, which begins at 11 a.m. Individual winners and the all-around champion will advance to the section level of competition.

Roseville Youth Soccer offers British camps
The Roseville Youth Soccer Club will hold British soccer camps, conducted by Challenger Sports, the weeks of June 18-22 and July 30-Aug. 3 at Maidu Park.
Camps being offered are mini soccer for boys and girls ages 4-6 (9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. each day), half day for ages 6-12 (9 a.m.-noon) and goalkeeper training for ages 8-12 (10:30 a.m.-noon). Costs are $107 for mini soccer and goalkeeper training and $137 for half day.
The camps will feature daily tournament play and British coaches teaching foot skills, moves, juggling, tactical practices, sportsmanship and more.
Campers will receive a T-shirt, soccer ball, giant soccer poster and skills performance evaluation. Those who register online at least 45 days before camp will receive a British soccer replica jersey.

Woodcreek offers boys soccer camp in June
Woodcreek High School boys soccer will hold its summer camp the week of June 18-21 at the campus football stadium.
The camp is for boys entering second through eighth grades and will be held from 9 a.m. to noon daily. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. June 18.
Campers will be grouped according to age and ability and will receive instruction from Woodcreek coaches and players in fundamentals, ball skills, passing and receiving, individual and group defending and small-sided games. Each camper needs to bring a soccer ball.
The cost is $85 per player and $60 per sibling. Each camper will receive a T-shirt, and there will be a barbecue and awards ceremony on the final day.

Junction Elementary plans Paw Pride golf tournament
Junction Elementary School in Roseville is holding its third annual Paw Pride Classic golf tournament at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Morgan Creek.
The cost is $100 per player for the 18-hole event. A luncheon on the pool deck, awards and raffle will follow. Proceeds will benefit the Junction Elementary School library.

New turkey federation chapter to hold banquet
The newly formed Granite Bay Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding its inaugural fundraising banquet Thursday at Granite Bay Country Club.
The non-profit organization supports wildlife conservation, youth events and high school, disabled hunter and women in hunting programs.
