Placer County is seeking applicants interested in serving two-year terms on the Granite Bay Municipal Advisory Council.

The terms of the council’s seven current members end Jan. 31 and they are eligible to apply for reappointment to their seats. The deadline for applying is Friday, Jan. 4.

The county’s 14 municipal advisory boards advise the Board of Supervisors on issues of public interest in unincorporated areas. They gather public comment on topics such as land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement, public health and safety, according to a news release.

Board members must reside, be property owners, or be business owners or managers within the MAC’s boundaries.

“The Granite Bay MAC is a vital forum for discussing issues that shape the future of our community,” Supervisor Kirk Uhler said in the news release. “Being a MAC member is a great way to serve the community, know what’s going on in Granite Bay and have your voice heard on key issues.”

Uhler, Granite Bay’s representative on the Board of Supervisors, will review the applications and recommend candidates for approval by the full board.

The Granite Bay MAC meets at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month in the offices of the Eureka Union School District, 5455 Eureka Road in Granite Bay. For application forms, call the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Office at (530) 889-4020 or visit

Completed applications should be delivered to the clerk in person or by mail. The office is located at 175 Fulweiler Ave. in Auburn, CA 95603.
