Another First Tee victory for Granite Bay golfer Wise

Bryan Wise of Granite Bay shot a 1-under-par 71 to win his second consecutive The First Tee of Greater Sacramento Jr. Tour event.

Wise scored a one-stroke victory Monday at Serrano Country Club. He won the overall boys championship a week earlier at Granite Bay Country Club.

Kevin Mackin and Tyson Tavalero tied for second at 72, and Zach Will of Roseville was fourth at 1-over 73.

Also, Vanessa Richani of Granite Bay was second in the girls 12-14 division with an 83.

Granite Bay wins pool at Summer Jam

Granite Bay High School went 4-0 to win its pool in the recent fifth annual Sheldon-Trail Summer Jam basketball tournament at various sites in Elk Grove.

The Grizzlies defeated Atwater-Buhach Colony 65-58, Kelseyville 68-25, Ponderosa 59-52 and Riverbank 70-48 to advance to the Platinum bracket for eliminations. Granite Bay then lost to Campolindo 68-58.

After going 0-4 in its pool, Woodcreek beat Kelseyville 54-20 and El Dorado 55-44 in the Copper bracket before falling to Vista del Lago 51-47 in the semifinals.

Roseville went 1-3 in its pool, beating Vacaville 60-47, and lost to Palo Alto 56-44 in the first round in the Bronze bracket.
