All American Speedway Kids Night

12 and under free admission this Saturday

The Roseville Press Tribune will sponsor the annual Kids Night at All American Speedway this Saturday night, with a bicycle giveaway contest. All kids 12 and under admitted free. This event offers free face paintings, food specials, prize drawings and driver autograph sessions. NASCAR Whelen All American Series returns to All American Speedway for championship point’s racing. On tap, NASCAR Late Models 100 followed by Modifieds 40, Street Stocks and Bombers 35 and WSRA. Temperatures should be in the low 90s, and the points chase will be heated. Modifieds _ Scott Winters is still leading the way in points with a total of 194. Dan Jinkerson is closing in on Winters with a mere seven points from the top spot. Fans will be watching to see if Michael Ostrowski can regain the two positions he lost after a bad finish recently. Street Stocks _ In the first 35 lap twins, Mickey Owens took the points lead from Richard Poppert Jr., who suffered a bad finish, as did Chris Lambert. Owens leads with a total of 151 points making the jump from the third spot. Late Models _ After a week off this division returns with a 100 lap feature. The last NASCAR Late Model race was the Twin 50s where Matt Scott took a 177 point lead. Both Jason Romero and Juan Pitta tied for 132 points in second. Bomber _ Can Chris Paulson continue his winning streak after the Bombers took off last weekend? After an apparent third-place finish in his last race, he was catapulted into fist when cars one and two were disqualified; that extended his points lead to 48. This Saturday the grandstands gate will open at 4 p.m. with qualifying around 4, and racing at 6. Pit passes available for purchase to the public at 2.
