Tuesday evening, August 12, officers from the Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln Police Departments, along with agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted a "Shoulder Tap" operation in Roseville, targeting individuals who agreed to purchase alcohol for minors in front of area stores. The officers and the minor operatives went to six different locations in Roseville. The minors approached approximately 95 adults and asked them to buy alcohol for them. Four adults agreed to buy alcohol for the minor decoys, and were cited by officers for furnishing alcohol to minors. One of the adults was also arrested for a drug-related felony warrant. Funding for the operation was provided by a regional grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Future operations will target alcohol sales to minors in all three participating cities.
