ROSEVILLE– Granite Bay’s girls golf team shot a blistering team score of 371 Monday to walk off with top honors at the ninth annual Helen Lengfeld Memorial Tournament played at Diamond Oaks in Roseville.
Sponsored by the Pacific Women’s Golf Association, the Lengfeld Tournament brought together 15 girls teams from the Sacramento area and another from Chico.
A total of five players in the tourney shot par (72) or better, and three of those players were from the winning Grizzlies’ squad.
Granite Bay’s scores were led by Yena Jang, who shot a 1-under-par 71.
Two more Grizzlies, Hanna Harrison and Sara Rietz, both fired even-par 72s. Granite Bay’s card was rounded out by Hailey Rietz with a 77 and Deborah Dollesin with a 79.
Medalist for the round was Pleasant Valley of Chico’s Jackie Lucena, who carded a 2-under-par 71.
Rocklin was fourth in the team scoring with a 426 while Whitney placed sixth with a 449. Del Oro grabbed eighth place (497) while Roseville was 10th (501).
Del Oro’s golfers were Alexis Vasquez (89), Taylor Urrutia (99), Olivia Morrow (101), Kennady Allen (102) and Sam Jacobs (106).
For Roseville, Kayla Hary and Julia Tauianini both shots 93s. Following were Annie Lemos (104), Kelsey Gill (105) and Lexi Walter (106).
