Chase Bank security camera footage shows Saturday’s robbery in progress.

Two bank robberies in Placer County are being linked to one man, with security footage from both heists showing a suspect with a penchant for wearing latex gloves while committing the crime.

Security-camera footage from robberies Saturday in North Auburn and Aug. 10 in Rocklin show the suspect wearing similar gloves in both incidents, as well as sunglasses, a mask over his mouth and nose and a hoodie.

The latest robbery took place before noon Saturday at the Chase Bank, 2520 Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn.

The suspect demanded money from tellers and prevented customers from leaving during the robbery, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office reported. He was wearing tan pants and a dark sweatshirt with “El Paso USA” on the front. In the Rocklin robbery, the man was wearing jeans and a hoodie with no lettering on the front.

He left with cash from the North Auburn crime scene, running north from the bank toward the rear of Big 5 sporting goods, the Sheriff’s Office said. No vehicles were seen in the area.

The Sheriff’s Office said that Saturday’s robbery is believed to have followed a robbery by the same man Aug. 10 - a Friday - at a Wells Fargo Bank branch in Rocklin. In that instance, a firearm was displayed..

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding the suspect, emphasizing that if someone saw anything suspicious in the area near the robbery on Saturday, they should contact the investigations division at 530-889-7830.
