The steady dribble of the ball hitting the hardwood, the swishing of the net and the roar of the crowd sets the scene for the exciting 7th-annual Titan Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament hosted by Antelope High School and Placer Valley Tourism. This three-day, crowd-pleasing event will take place Dec. 10-12 and boasts eight highly competitive teams and includes all three levels with the freshmen, junior varsity and varsity teams taking the court.

The Woodcreek High School boys squad will join Antelope, Bella Vista, Davis, and Kennedy at the local tournament. Out of the Bay Area, the impressive and always competitive teams from College Park High School in Walnut Creek and Saint Mary's College High School from Berkeley will be bringing their A-game. Last but certainly not least, Tenison Woods University High School from Australia will make the more than 8,000 mile journey to compete in this popular and well-respected winter tournament.

Antelope’s Head Coach, Rob Richards, explains that Tenison Woods competes every other year as they have to fund-raise to cover the expenses a trip of this magnitude entails. The Antelope High School players and coaches host the Australia team and they say it has become a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

"The quality of basketball will be top-notch and we also have Access Local TV broadcaster, Will James covering it on Friday, which makes it very exciting for the players and parents," Richards added.

Not only is the Titan Holiday Classic one of the best high school basketball tournaments in Northern California but it also provides a chance to see future NCAA stars in action.

Kai Tease and Jordan Brown will add an element of excitement with their standout skills. Tease, a senior point guard from Antelope, just signed with Howard University and Brown, a 6-foot-9 sophomore for Woodcreek's varsity team, is ranked in the top three nationally for 2018 prospects and is always a presence in the paint and a menace on the rim.

The action all takes place at Antelope High School located at 7801 Titan Drive in Antelope. For more information, please visit
