Placer County detectives captured two criminals on Nov. 16, both wanted for burglary throughout Placer County, according to law enforcement officials.
Ronald James Kaestner II 45, of Carmichael was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. and Christopher Michael Terry, 45, of Sacramento was arrested at about 6:45 p.m. Nov. 16.
“During the investigation, detectives found other local crimes which Kaestner and Terry were wanted for,” said Placer County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Angela Musallam.
Those crimes included a case in Roseville, where Kaestner and Terry stole items from a Raley’s grocery store, according to Musallam. Kaestner was seen pepper spraying an individual who was trying to record them on a cell phone during the theft, according to officials.
The two were also wanted for a theft in Auburn on Nov. 11.
“Kaestner’s gold Toyota Camry was spotted by a sheriff’s deputy last week after the pair stole from the Auburn Home Depot,” according to Musallam. The two were also wanted for theft of alcohol from a Raley’s in Granite Bay.
The suspects led the deputy on a high-speed chase that ended for the public’s safety, according to Musallam.
During this time, theft broadcasts and video surveillance identified Christopher Terry as the suspect in several felony thefts from a tool store in Sacramento County, according to Musallam.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division located and arrested Kaestner and Terry in Sacramento County through the use of leads and more surveillance information.
Placer County detectives found several documents belonging to identity theft victims in Kaestner’s possession during the arrest, according to Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Kaestner was booked into the Auburn Main Jail on Nov. 18 for felony evasion with a motor vehicle, grand theft, conspiracy, felon in possession of pepper spray and shoplifting, according to Musallam. His bail is set at $635,000. Kaestner is reported to be on probation out of Sacramento County for identity theft.
Terry was booked into the South Placer Jail on Nov. 18 for grand theft and conspiracy. His bail is set at $410,000, according to the Placer County Jail directory. According to Musallam, Terry is on Post Release Community Supervision out of Sacramento County and his parole was revoked by his probation officer.
