Roseville truck driver escapes blazeBy: Brody Fernandez Of Gold Country Media
Early Wednesday afternoon, a semi-truck caught on fire, according to Roseville Fire Department Battalion Chief Greg Pote.
“Roseville Fire responded to a semi tractor truck that was on fire over on the Riverside overpass (I-80),” Pote said. “Engine Number 3 and Engine Number 1 responded first and deployed an offensive fire tract with a short water supply to suppress the fire in about 10 minutes.”
Traffic was diverted off of Riverside Avenue and I-80 while crews battled the blaze, according to Pote.
“The driver got out safely with no injuries,” Pote said. “The damage was limited to the tractor of the semi-truck. There was no damage to the semi-trailer and the cargo was unaffected.”
The fire’s cause was unknown, as of press time, according to officials.
