The Valley Christian Academy Lady Lions are in the midst of a record-setting run.

With a 68-19 win Tuesday against Cristo Rey, VCA won its 77th consecutive Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League game. The last time the Lady Lions lost a league game was the season finale of the 2011–12 season.

The streak broke VCA’s varsity baseball team’s record for the longest in school history for any sport. The Lions’ baseball team went without a loss in league play from March 30, 2012 to April 19 of last year, when it lost by just a run to Alpha Charter – a run of 76 straight wins.

Bernada Rreshpja leads VCA, who is in search of its seventh consecutive SMAL championship crown. According to MaxPreps, the senior from Albania leads the entire Sac-Joaquin Section and is third in the state of California in scoring at 27.2 a night.

VCA (19-2, 9-0) is also receiving consistent contributions from freshman Grace Williams, who averages close to 12 points a game.
