The Jessup Athletic Association will host the 18th annual Warrior Golf Classic on Friday, April 15 at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln.

The Warrior Golf Classic is open to the public for both sponsorship and participation. All proceeds raised at the golf tournament will go directly to support William Jessup University (WJU) athletic programs.

The tournament entry fee is $199 per person prior to Feb. 15, and $225 after that date. The entry fee is $199 for Jessup Athletic Association members. The cost includes green fees, lunch, dinner, awards presentation, cart, and range balls.

The tournament also includes an option for up to 10 teams to participate in a four-person shamble format. In a shamble, all four players tee off and select one shot, then play their own ball the remainder of the hole. The best individual score per hole is recorded for the team total. The shamble foursomes cannot exceed a total combined USGA handicap of 36.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until noon. A noon shotgun start will be followed by dinner, prizes and an awards presentation at approximately 5:30 p.m. The event will conclude promptly at 6:45 p.m. Additional tournament contests will be announced.

The Jessup Athletic Association is the booster organization created to provide opportunities for donors to partner and engage with WJU Athletics. More than 225 Jessup student-athletes are competing in the Golden State Athletic Conference in both men and women’s sports.

This is the first time the growing university has held the popular event in Lincoln. Nestled among the rolling hills and woodlands, Catta Verdera is one of the premiere golf courses in the Sacramento region. The scenic course layout is situated in a stunning 335-acre valley that features gentle streams, natural oaks, Ponderosa pines, and striking granite outcroppings.

“The Catta Verdera course is a beautiful and challenging layout, and provides an exceptional golfing experience,” said Michael Harper, WJU’s Associate Athletic Director. “We are offering both men and women a wonderful day of golf and community fellowship that will raise funds for athletic scholarships, facilities, equipment, and overall support of Jessup athletics.”

Participants are asked to submit sponsorship payments or register for the tournament prior to Friday, April 1. Submit payment online at or mail a commitment form to: Athletics, William Jessup University, 2121 University Ave., Rocklin, CA 95765.
